faculty message matrices-FR and SJ. The UNB Marketing Office has been working to develop faculty ‘message matrices’, one-page documents that summarize each faculty’s most important messages. These matrices will be used as reference tools and ensure institution and faculty stories are presented in a consistent and cohesive manner. My work was referenced as part of the Faculty of Science, Applied Science and Engineering (SASE) Message Matrix as faculty ‘proof points’ in the ‘A hotbed of creativity, innovation and collaboration’, ‘A world-class education with award winning faculty members’, and ‘Making a difference in the local community’ categories.
Aug 18, 2020 UNB Research. Topic - COVID-19 research: Occupational disruption and adaptation. This blog
post featured the research project that I am doing with Drs. Kerrie Luck and Alison Luke and
that is one of the 13 UNB COVID-19 research project that received funding from NBIF, NBHRF,
and ACOA. The blog post described our qualitative description study, exploring the
experience of occupational disruption and adaptation among individuals with chronic disease
during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Managing chronic conditions during the pandemic. With this interview, Dr. Kerrie Luck and I
shared our research on patients with chronic health conditions and how they navigated the
health care system and their care during the Covid-19 pandemic. We shared insights from our
patient interviews, our qualitative analysis methods and findings to date. Our research was
funded by the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF), the New Brunswick Health
Research Foundation (NBHRF) and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.

chronic disease. One of the postdoctoral fellows that I supervise, Dr. Kerry Luck, Dr. Alison Luke, and I ave been researching the impact of Covid-19 on patients with chronic health conditions. This article highlighted our findings to date through patient interviews. article highlighted the thirteen UNB research projects that received funding from the New
Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF), the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation
(NBHRF) and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. The foundations had issued a joint
call for research projects to better understand and address the challenges created by the
Covid-19 pandemic, with up to $50,000 in funding available per project. In total, the
foundations have invested $846,707 in support of 27 projects across the province. UNB’s

Jun 16, 2020 CBC Radio New Brunswick's Information Morning in Saint John with Julia Wright. Topic -
Co-designing dementia diagnosis and post-diagnostic care (COGNISANCE). As co-lead of this
international research project, I shared updates on the project in New Brunswick and
internationally. One of the team’s caregiver partners was also interviewed to share her
experiences with dementia care. This project aims to design, deliver, and evaluate an
awareness campaign to improve how primary care providers diagnose and support persons
with dementia and their care partners. This research is embedded in a larger, international
funded project co-led by teams in Canada, Australia, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and
Poland, in partnership with the World Health Organisation, Alzheimer’s Disease International,
and Dementia Alliance International.

our Patients’ Den 2019 event that was co-hosted by the New Brunswick SPOR PIHCI Network
(I am a scientific lead) and MSSU at the Université de Moncton. Selected research projects
were pitched to patient panelists for the chance to win up to $5,000 in funding to support their

Dec 23, 2019 The University of New Brunswick News Release. Topic - Outstanding collaborations that
include UNB researchers recognized by NBHRF. This blog highlighted four UNB research teams that were recognized by the 2019 NBHRF Research Teams of the Month program. The NBHRF program is aimed at promoting collaboration in health research and at recognizing excellence in research conducted by research teams in all areas and disciplines that fall under health research. The research team must also be a collaboration, including two or more investigators from different departments, institutions or agencies. I am the Director for the Centre for Research in Integrated Care (CRIC) and we were named the July 2019 Research Team of the Month.
Oct 29, 2019 New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF) News Release. Topic - First year of Social
Innovation Fund closes. We were recognized by NBIF's and New Brunswick Social Policy
Research Network’s (NB-SPRN) joint Social Innovation Research Fund (SIRF) project. The goal
of the SIRF is for socially innovative projects that stand to positively impact our province. A
total of $200,000 in funding was awarded to nine researchers - our project, Transition strategy
for youth with complex needs in pediatric care to adult care, was one of them.

I was recognized along with UNB researchers Drs. Alison Luke, Chris McGibbon, and Sandra
Magalhaes for participating in the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging
(CCNA), Canada’s largest dementia research network. The CCNA, launched in 2014 in
response to Canada’s commitment to the 38th annual G8 Summit, consists of 19 teams of
researchers from across the country who are engaged in research on neurodegenerative
diseases, such as dementia. The national research team that I and Dr. Luke are involved in will
investigate how to provide innovative care for persons living with dementia at the primary care
